Have you ever taken inventory of your habits to see if they are hurting you or helping you reach your goals and dreams?
Why is this important to take inventory and track your habits? Its important because whether you are consistent with good habits or bad habits. Habits either grow you closer to your goals and dreams or they take you away further from your goals and dreams. Habits can either cause you more stress or they can help you build a business in rest and success. If you're not aware of how your habits are either helping you or hurting you. You arent aware of the changes you need to make in order to make a bad habit good to help you grow and succeed.
HI I am Ginny Hatfield, your host of Harvest Without the Hustle, Certified Keynote Kingdom Speaker, certified Radiant Leader, a Network Marketing Ambassador for the best membership designed specifically for you, a woman entrepreneur where women grow and succeed.
Habits are the building block of success because that's where the transformation occurs. According to Tony Dungy, and his Golden Rule of Habit Change, who was the first African American football coach to win a Super Bowl, You can never truly extinguish a bad habit. You can only change it. But in order to change a habit you must first change the routine of a habit. Which you can read all about in the book Called The Power of Habit, by Charles Duhigg.
So Grab your favorite beverage and let's jump into this 3rd episode of Harvest without the Hustle so that you can learn how to change a bad habit into a good habit so you can grow your network marketing business quicker, more efficiently, have the time to rest, and spend that quality time with your friends and family while growing a successful network marketing business.
Coming close to three decades of being in the network marketing industry I have discovered that it's the habits of a network marketers that will either have them in a forward success motion or have them stuck and going backwards in a stuck and failing motion.
Habits are made up of a three step loop, the cue, the routine, and the reward. Dungy recognized in his Golden Rule of habit change that you can never truly extinguish bad habits. Rather to change a habit, you must keep the old cue, and deliver the old reward, but insert a new routine.
This is the rule: If you use the same cue, and provide the same reward, you can shift the routine and change the habit. Almost any behavior can be transformed if the cue and reward stay the same.
So what is a cue-is the thing that triggers your brain to do a routine in order to get a reward at the end.
So in your network marketing business your cue is probably your planner, your list of people you need to reach out to. In the network marketing world we call these our reach outs, people that we have not yet built a relationship up with enough to invite them to take a look at our business, right?
Your routine is how you go about putting that cue into action. Are you going to ignore that list of people you need to talk to and talk yourself right out of doing the routine action? You know those excuses as to why you are not going to take the action of doing reach outs that are going to bring you success. (which really when you take a deep dive into your excuses, its really just overcoming the battle of the rejection) Or, are you going to pick up that list and get into action by doing your reach outs even when you don’t feel like it!. So that you can have the reward of them saying yes to your invite to check out your product, opportunity, or service that you offer.
So to change your routine so that you do your reach outs instead of ignoring them and making excuses, here are a few suggestions to go about doing this that I have adopted as part of my routine. Because this was one habit area of my network marketing business that I really struggled with because of fear of rejection and not having a plan for every day when i sat down to work my business.
1. Take your habit that you're wanting to change to God. Seek him out first. Ask him to show you how to change this bad habit into a good habit. (journal down your thoughts and you will find your answer to help you change your habit )
2. Put it in your planner-do your legacy hour-that's one hour you tell your friends, and family members that unless they need medical attention they are not to bother you during that time period. (if you have younger kids-get them set up in advance with quiet activities or maybe that can be their tv or book time) Make sure your kids and hubbies are fed ahead of time as this seems to be one of their reasons why they need you at this time!
3. In your planner, write down exactly what you want to work on during that hour. I have found I have certain days I do certain things. Not every day is a reach out day. I make sure that I have reach outs in my planner written down at least 3 -4 days a week with names of people that i want to reach out to and get to know better. Here are some activities I have down for my legacy hour. Content planning and creating, Follow Ups with prospects and with team members and leaders in my team, Setting up 3 way calls with support team for myself personally and calendaring in 3 ways calls for my team members, Booking time for Coffee chats with new prospects to get to know them better to see how I can serve them.
Remember relationship building is the key to success in network marketing. So unless you plan out your routine of how you are going to achieve this your bad habits will get in your way to their habits so that they can grow their network marketing business faster to reach their goals and dreams and will help cheer you on to making changes to your bad habits for good habits of success!
So you can enjoy the harvest without sacrificing your life. Hit the follow button on purpose and lets dive in together and lets get those bad habits replaced with good habits so you can have success as your reward.everytime and you will ignore your legacy hour. .you will ignore doing reach outs
Here is a special tip for getting your reach outs and follow ups organized so that you don’t lose anyone.
I use a free app called Penny App for my reach outs and follow ups so I can keep good track of what the next step is with my prospects, members, and team leaders to advance them to the next step. Remember your routine with everyone is, what is the next step for you to direct them to, in order for them to have success.
Now with the Peny App, You just log into the Penny App every morning and it tells you who you need to reach out to and who you need to follow up with. You can actually add your prospects right from facebook into the penny app so it makes it really easy to follow up with everyone. If you would like more information about this I will have a link in the show notes that you can join with and again it's free.
4. Knowing what your list of tools are that you are going to use with your prospects, to give them the information that they need in order to make an informed decision. Remember it takes anywhere from 7 to 20 touches or exposures for a person to say yes to your products, opportunity, or service that you are offering to them as a solution to solve their problem.
Remember you can change any bad habit into a good habit if you just change the routine. Part of changing a habit is being aware of a bad habit and then taking action to change the routine. And that just takes some digging into what triggers you into not doing a routine that will bring you success. The next step is taking some planning and writing down a routine that you are going to follow consistently for a period of time to break it. Write down what triggers you into the bad habit (BECOME AWARE) and then write down some ways (which means get a plan) you can change that routine into a good habit which will give you success instead of failure.
For example: If you're trying to lose weight, maybe you need to change your grocery shopping routine of not bringing home junk food. Instead go into Pinterest and look up healthy snacks and meals, print off the recipes, look at what you need to buy for ingredients to make those recipes, meal prep so that you have them available to eat instead of cooking when you are hungry so all you have to do is warm them up. Plus with meal prepping it saves you time and also makes sure you have the ingredients to make them. Routines are just ways you prepare ahead of time to set yourself up for a reward that will help you reach your goals and dreams.
If you would like some help in changing some habit routines, I have a great tool that you can plug into for free. It's called the sacred 60 challenge. It's similar to doing a 75 hard challenge but with a twist to get you ready to up level your walk with the lord, take control of your health, steward your body, take your business to the next level, develop discipline and dedication for 60 days at a time.
