How do you communicate with your husband about investing more time or money into your network marketing biz?
You know when you’ve got that pit in your stomach? …the one that begins days before you plan on having that conversation with your husband about investing yet more money or time into your network marketing biz?
You don't! (pause) Now before you scratch your head and wonder what I am talking about let me introduce myself.
HI I am Ginny Hatfield, your host of Harvest Without the Hustle, I am a certified professional Kingdom speaker, Radiant Leader, a Network Marketer and an Ambassador for the best membership for women entrepreneurs.
It’s time to grab your favorite beverage and dive into today's episode 4 of How
to have great communication with your husband when you are trying to convince him to give you more time and money to reach higher levels in your network marketing business.
So here's what I used to do to get him convinced to let me put more time and money into my network marketing business.
I used to make him his favorite meal and then let's put it this way let him have some grown up fun. Then when he was feeling relaxed I would hit up with my request. Which always ended up bad and would end up in a yelling or cold shoulder battle.
Can you relate?
But now let me share with you how I switched my presentation and success in having him see how investing more money or time as a next step of growth into my business and how it could benefit him.
When you come to your husband with a detailed business presentation and a plan of action of how you are going to make the investment of money or time back in a certain amount of time. Expect your husband to ask you questions where you can answer them calmly and have a business discussion.
So here are some steps you can do to let him know what you are doing in your business, why you need to invest more money or time into your business and the most important fact. How is it going to affect his daily life…?

On this episode I have used this acronym “Prayers” but there's no need for you to remember this acronym but there is a need for you to follow along and listen as I share each letter with you.
1. P- stands for prayer.. First thing you do is you make sure you take it to God first in prayer as your CEO partner and ask Him for his wisdom and direction. Because a lot of ideas you might have sometimes are not the direction God even wants you to be going towards. And if God doesn't want you going down that path. He is not going to bless it.
2. R-stands for Relaxed -Make sure your hubby is in a relaxed state. So don’t get into this discussion when he comes through the door after work. Make sure he has some food in him and it's a time where you can sit down and talk for about 30 minutes without kids interrupting you or in the middle of his football game on tv or in my case his favorite farming you tube show.
You need to text him ahead of time and share with him that you would like about 30 minutes of his time to discuss something with him about your business and would like his feedback on an idea you have to grow your business. This way he’s not getting hit with a surprise. He knows the subject and the time you are going to be discussing it. (get it on the calendar)
3. A-Stands for Action- Show him the action that its going to take. Show him your game plan-your business plan. In this game plan, have the time written and planned out to show him that you are serious and while it might take away time away from him and your family now. The payout is going to make up for it. Show him in this many hours of focused time you are going to be able to produce this much which equals this much income coming in and this is what I would like to do with that income. (get him dreaming again)
Share with him exactly what you will be doing during this focused time of building your business.
Know your compensation plan, if you don’t know your compensation plan of your network marketing company, get with your support team and get a plan mapped out.
You will need to know where you are right now
Where you're shooting for-the next level and how much that next level will bring in for income once you have reached it.
You will need to know how many people you will need to enroll to get to that level
And how many people you need to talk to to get to that next level. This is where tracking your results comes in. You need to know how many people you talk to before you get a yes for an enrollment.
This way he can see your numbers now and what you have put into your business and the results of your efforts.
Now if its money that you need to share with him what you need in order to reach a new level of skill. Share testimonies of others that have gone through that training of this skill you want to take to skill up.
Get him on a 3 way with one of your mentors, support team, or even if you are able to get him on a 3 way with one of the people that have taken the skill training that you want to take so that they can answer his questions, instead of it being all on your shoulders.
Show him how others were at your level of income but once they took this skill training they leveled up to a new level in the compensation plan.
4. Y-Stands for Yield- Yield to his input. He will point out some things that are likely going to have to change. Point out anything in your plan where he might have to step up and do more with the kids or the housework so that you can reach these goals. Share with him that if you are going to invest 5 more hours over here.
You're going to have to need some help in this area. Whether it's housework, getting a meal on the table, cleaning up afterwards or maybe just simply running the kids to practices and picking them up afterwards. And tell him you are curious if he has things he is thinking about that might have to change.
5. E-Stands for Emphasize-
Remember you are inviting him in for his feedback because the two of you are a team. Just like you are when you are inviting other people to join you on your team. You're not going to tell them what to do. You are going to ask them what they are concerned about. You are going to be curious about what they need. Same thing happens when you have this conversation with your husband.
Because you are selling him, you are bringing him on to the team. This is where you are going to have to use all of your network marketing skills, the ones that you have, the ones that you are honing, and the ones that you are about to have after you have this conversation. You are going to use it all. You are going to put it out there. As your coach I am emphasizing this to you. You must get his feedback.
Remember to also Thank him for pointing out issues with your game plan out for you that might be an issue for either one of you with giving you the extra time or money. Remember also if you don’t know the answer to his feedback question, tell him that you will get back to him about that particular question and ask him if that would be ok.
You might have to at this point have to reschedule another time with him to get him the answer to his question or you might have to set up a time with someone else maybe even in a 3 way with someone who could get his questions answered.
Also at this point, you might even ask him about his goals and dreams and ask him how you can support his goals and dreams. You might find it could even be a time where you might have to put your goal on the back burner because his goal or dream might help you get to your goal and dream even quicker.
Remember you're a team that God put together as one to work together for the good of each other together. That's why its so important for us to share our heart desires with our husbands. That's really what goals and dreams are all about; it's the goals and dreams that God has put on our hearts for his purpose to grow his Kingdom here on earth.
6. R- stands for Resolution- When you start putting these concepts of communication into effect. Remember there is going to be some resistance because they are used to how you communicate with them. But once they see that you are serious and you keep your cool and they see the change in you. They will come around and start communicating with you. It's been a slow process with my hubby but now it's so much better since we have not just learned this concept of communication, we practice it regularly.
Better communication = more money in my network marketing business which = more time freedom.
7- S-is for Share- Once you have come to an agreement that this is something you are both wanting to achieve then it's time to put it into action.
Share this game plan with your kids or family members that are taking up this time you need to focus on your business. Share with them why you are focusing now on your business and what it will mean for them. Show them how by being able to focus on this time with your business or by investing into this course to help you learn this new skill how it will affect them. At the end, will you be taking a fun vacation together, will you have more quality time together as a family.
Also show them what they are going to have to do during this time so that you can reach your goal.
