How does leveraging the strength of community enhanced your ability? To make a more significant impact and foster growth for your business. To achieve greater impact and growth. Is it essential to rejuvenate your voice? Allowing you to confidently share your knowledge and position yourself as a leader.
Are you projecting the image of a confident leader with a rejuvenated and powerful voice?
I want to share something with you.
In the almost three decades that I have been in the network marketing business. I have seen way too many women, including myself, get bogged down into this gunk thoughts. You know, those thoughts that you are not good enough. Smart enough. Successful enough. To be able to have impact. Which limits you in your own personal growth and your own growth of your business. And even growth and impact in showing up as a leader in your own families and communities.
Remember any time that you were feeling defeated, not enough are feeling limited. Those are skunk clouds from the devil, because as long as he can keep you down and quiet, He knows you won't have growth, which leads to impact because once you have impact. It starts a momentum that can't be stopped. Have you ever watched an avalanche? It starts small, then becomes big in a hurry and then it takes over in massive waves. Well, that's the way you are as a woman of God.
Can have massive impact. Once you have the confidence in what you have to say with your words. And know that your voice will have impact over others. And how your impact can help grow someone. And help equip them. To start their calling and helping lead in to their purpose of serving Jesus. We'll multiply quickly, like an avalanche of hope to others.
Hi. I'm Jenny Hatfield, your host of harvest without the hustle. Where I encourage empower and equip women to dream bigger and build wealth through the kingdom minded, mentoring and leadership through using tools and resources found in the girl power Alliance membership. Which is designed specifically for you. A woman entrepreneur. Or women grow and succeed.
An episode seven, we are going to be examining those questions with my dear friend, Theresa Croft, who is a certified kingdom keynote speaker voice. Revitalist. Help in faith-based women entrepreneurs who feel voiceless, revive their voice to create impact, save them money, make them money and growing themselves in community. She does this through her podcast, unleashing kingdom, voices, and also her AI courses. We are going to be sharing some of our takeaways and aha moments that we had when we both were going through the nine week kingdom speaker certification training. And the two day in-person certification with the coaches and other women that were getting certified along with us.
I personally got to meet Theresa during the first kingdom speaker academy certification. In San Diego last fall, as I was lucky enough to be one of her roommates with her. So I got to see the real Teresa. So welcome Teresa
Oh, it's such an honor to be here, Ginny. That was probably one of the highlights of my year. Uh, one of many, but one of a few. Just being able to get to know you, uh, where you're both going through the Speaker Academy, so we both had our set of nerves. And, wow, you know, I remember I prayed for, that I would meet at least one good friend.
God answered it that night. We went out to dinner and we talked and then we came back to the room and we practiced. So Jenny, I am so proud of you too. What's the name of your podcast? Harvest Without the Hustle. That is, see, I think that's so perfect. So it is really an honor to be here with you. I can't tell you how much of an honor it is.
Well, thank
you. And, and so what kind of brought you into, um, Girl Power Alliance, into the Kingdom, um, Speaker Academy? What kind of got you, like, what intrigued you to get, to even say yes?
That's a great question. Well, I joined Girl Power Alliance, uh, on the heels of losing my husband. So I, I wanted community.
And then when I found out they had a speaker academy, um, I grew up wanting to be a speaker. I mean, you look back to what you like to do when you played. I was just a ham always wanting to be on a stage, but that has cultivated through 15 and a half years on radio. But I like the idea that we were going to go through a nine week course, you know, online, and then we're going to meet on stage.
And that just was a desire in my heart to, to harness and, and, and enrich those skills that I love to speak. And I'm not afraid of the stage. I don't know, 15 and a half years of radio made me that way or. Just going back to my childhood. Yep. Um,
What do you think was like 3 of the main lessons that you learned from, um, just the 9 week part of the program before you hit this
stage?
Yeah, I think I'll be honest with you. Um, I was still I hadn't quite got to my healing. Uh, so a lot of the online, so I may not be your average answer because I was working for Nike and customer service at home. And that was, that was just triggering all my trauma. I find that out later. And I just had started with some therapy.
Okay. So, uh, I have to tell you, I probably should have taken the nine weeks first, but I say all that to say, it doesn't matter where you are. God can meet you where you are. So that was number one, just being able to kind of come away from that. And then the second thing is once I realized, okay, I signed up to be on stage.
I need to work through this. I need to work through this talk. And it brought me to just some basics that I always believe in. That and it just, it just, it just enlightened it even more Jenny that you oftentimes you go back to see the threads of your life. You can go back to see what you like to do when you played.
And so I was able to kind of put that back into focus when I was little, my idea of fun was climbing up the steps of my family's old house. I was probably about 7, maybe 8, and I climb up to those steps and I pretend like I was a preacher and I'd preach. I was Catholic. It was a great homily. And then at that same day, a memory that, that kind of just, I'm just, this is kind of like a standard now.
Um, my dad brought home a modern day technology. I'm going to age myself. It wasn't even a Walkman. It was just a tape recorder that had an attached microphone. And I just, that was my idea of fun, just talking into that thing. And we eventually moved, and at this house it was just two little steps. I didn't like that.
But one day I looked over and I saw an apple cart. So I tipped that sucker a long ways, got up on top of it, and I did preach. I knew, I met Jesus at this house. To the birds and the bees and the apple trees, an apple cart. Since 2008 I've been opening an apple phone, an apple computer. See this thread? So I loved to be reacquainted.
To the threads because of once sometimes when you go through trauma, you forget things. So that was another thing. And then the third thing, I mean, before I actually got there is I got some really great help from who I call her, my therapist, my mental coach and my business coach and my best friend. So I was able to really work on, on speaking and I had kind of a hang up about my clothes.
So she literally took me step by step through all of those things. And I got to tell you, I got massive therapy on this statement. Finding your people is just a myth, just a myth. I had some therapy on it, but when I got to Girl Power Alliance, when I got to Activate, when I got to that speaker, especially Speaker Academy, I had found my people, no doubt.
Yeah, I know. Um, I found my people too. I, you know, I knew I had found my people, you know, when my husband was, was going through his liver transplants and in 2022, when I had so many of these women from Girl Power Alliance, they called me, they text me, they sent me messages of scripture, they prayed for me.
I mean, I felt that. And, um, You know, and then my other business, you know, I only had a couple call me. And so that's when I kind of knew deep down that this was, this was the business I was supposed to be doing. And it took me a while to, um, get to GPA as my main business. I think what really sealed the deal was, um, when I.
I had seen the Kingdom Speaker Academy and, and God had told me at the end of, uh, 2022 that I was going to do a part, a podcast and that, um, and that he would equip me. So I didn't have to stress out about it. And so when I seen the Kingdom Speaker Academy come up and that I'm like, it kind of like spoke to me.
Yeah. Yeah. And. Yeah, it's like I, I just kind of felt like God said, okay, this is what you need to do. This is the course that you're going to take to equip yourself and. And so I started with it, and then a couple weeks into it, um, was about my birthday time. And I always give myself, um, a, a training. You know, um, something that's going to, um, something that's going to grow me.
for the year. And so I decided that the certification was going to be my gift to myself. My birthday. And, um, and also I, I also heard God say, you're doing it.
So I'm just like, okay, I guess I'm doing it. And, um, you know, and then, um, you know, as we were going through it, you know, I remember, uh, Lisa V, um, she, she, um, cause At the end of it, you always have time, you have, most of the time you have time to where you can ask a couple questions and that, and so I finally got brave enough and just asked her a question, you know, and I told her kind of my frustration was, you know, that I was trying to do this whole message on, you know, how my husband came through his liver transplant and she's like, that's not your story though.
Whoa. She says, what is your story, Jenny? And she didn't let me get off until I answered her. Yeah. And then I realized that's when I really knew God. That's when I'd heard God, you know, tell me that, um, you know, do you trust me with your husband's health? Wow. You know, and me being, um, you know, control freak, I told God no twice.
And then after, and then I said, yes. And, and I think when you can put your message of how you hear God and, and the message that he has given you. Yeah. And then you have this, um, in the Kingdom Speaker Academy course, you have nine weeks where they take you step by step on how to put it together. They give you the homework so that you can implement it.
And then at the end of the nine weeks, you've got a message. So good. And then you practice that because when you go up, I found out there was no podium.
And I got there. I remember that. She had a few notes there. You handled that. And I gotta tell you, Jenny told her story. I mean, I love how you said that.
You know, I said to you, I had to find kind of my story in the preparation of it. You found your story and they didn't have a pony . I remember you walked in and you're like. Where's the podium? Oh, bless you. What happened? Because they didn't have a podium. But you know what? By then, I don't know, you, you, we had a practice day, y'all, I'm just going to brag on you.
And so we had a practice day and she had some notes. The second day, I don't really think you needed those notes, but you know, we're all, you, you took them up there. I think more of the assurance, but the transformation from the practice day to Ginny on stage. She was in her element and I'll tell you another thing.
I got to share this with you. I remember we were in the, um, uh, we were in the motel room. We're chilling out. It was 1 night and I was lying down. I think I was eating popcorn and you started just rattling out stories and just, you know, real life and you were real and it was Jenny. And I remember saying, Jenny, I feel like I'm watching you at a church conference and you're speaking to all these women because she just kept roll.
And I said, I see you there. And I think, I think I still see you there because there's something about you being Ginny. I draw, I draws people to you. You being Ginny in your business, people are like, Oh man, she's so real. I want to do business. I want to see what she's got going. So it is your secret identity.
It is your stamp from God. Please don't ever lose it because you are meant to speak. And I know you know that now.
Yes. I mean, going through the Kingdom Speaker Academy course. Really unleashed my voice it. Yeah, it released it and no doubt and and I can't keep that message to myself anymore
Right. That's so good and that's why I'm glad you have a podcast because I really believe in your people in women's voices and Sometimes they get shut down by trauma or just shut down by doubts and fears And so you're a beacon that you press through you've invested in yourself Not only speaking on stage, but you know, having a podcast, that's, that's pretty major.
And that stays in the cloud that stays in the air. So I'm really, I'm so proud of you. And I found out you were working on your podcast. Cause that's, I want everyone to have a podcast. This is my mentality. Hey, you, you got a great voice. No, it's not even, you have a great voice. You got a great story. You need to have a podcast.
I know because I remember, um, we talked a little about that in our room about having a podcast and I told, told you that. Yep. Um, you know, God told me that I was supposed to meet my, my mentor, my teacher here. At the certification and that you know, I think that night that we were talking I hadn't met her yet I hadn't met her.
God hadn't shown her to me. Okay, and that I thought it was gonna be another person And and when I walked toward that one girl like that following morning God just made her and totally invisible Wow. She did not see me. She did not see me and she just like turned and walked away. Okay. And that, and then I heard God say, nope, that's not her.
Okay. And then I'm like, darn, who is it? And I'm sitting there. Um, it was like toward the end of, um, you know, day two. Okay. Um, I think it might have been after like the party afterwards and that and because I was like, still questioning God in my mind, like, okay, you said it's certification. Well, it's about over in case you didn't realize that, you know, I was kind of.
You know, thinking to 'em and that on anyhow, because I have a lot of conversations with them. One-on-one Sure. In my mind. Yes, I too, you know, while , you know, different places and anyhow. And he's like, okay, turn around. That's who it is. And I turned around and there was Jen Rogers. Wow. And that, and so, oh, that is, that's how that kind of got started.
But. All right, and Jen is, uh, she was, uh, she had a podcast course. Yeah, a bunch of that's awesome.
Yeah. Yeah. She put together a podcast and I was, um, I was the only 1 that started with it at this point. I think he also has, um, uh. She's getting a podcast, um, course and a GPA put together good and that I think it releases in April.
So, for those that want to know how to do a podcast, we have that in GPA
coming in. We also have, uh, uh, amazing cutting edge. AI course by Elise Smith. Yes. I thought I had one, but man, I sat down and watched it and thought, woo, she's okay. This is good. I love, and that's when I saw, sorry. Yeah, so let's
talk about your AI
course.
Well, let me tell you, when I was with you, sorry, I'm gonna do this. See, I'm, I'm doing something even now, I'm taking a video of . You know, I did a challenge, a 99 reels, one reel every day for 99 days, kind of just to show my life. Okay? So when I was in GPA, I was doing a podcast, but I was just beginning to, uh, learn ai.
I, I'm a part of a mastermind with, uh, Chris Winfield, who's one of the AI experts around, and Jen Gottlieb. Uh, if you go on Instagram, you'll see those guys all the time. And I was just discovering how simple a podcast can be using AI. So, uh, my coach, my business coach, personal friend challenged me. She says, you need to make that a course.
So all of December, I put together a pretty hefty course. From teaching you how to use chat GPT to find if, do you really have a vi A via? Do you really have a valuable podcast? Is this gonna be valuable for you? And then you figure out, and then going from using chat GPT to find your ideal audience using chat, GPT to help your voice and that, all of that, including.
Equipment, you know, proper speaking, uh, things, but I, I just, that's just my passion to help women really use. For example, you and I, let me just show you how easy it is. You and I both use StreamYard. Right? So Jenny is using a zoom meeting to capture not only the video, but also the audio. If you're just listening, you're seeing my hands fly all over, but you can't see because you're just listening.
So when Jenny gets done, when I get done, I throw this whole thing into something called Descript, D E S C R I P T. Now, I sometimes I use the AI feature where I take out the ums and stuff, but I started to leave it in. Cause I want to be authentic. Okay. I say, um, a lot, or I see, I mean, and my, my guests may say, um, a lot, but yet that's the best sense of who she is.
So just, just, I don't know if you, I stopped taking the ums and ahs out cause also there were too many gaps. So from there, okay. I do have a video in there, but there's one button that says publish and drops down buzzsprout, which I think is the best. Buzzsprout is our host for our podcasting. So it automatically goes over to Buzzsprout.
You don't have to worry. It's not going to be live yet until you put the finishing touches. But if you upgrade on Buzzsprout, just like for six bucks, they're going to magically master that. What I mean in my old days, I would use this audio workstation and I'm not a sound engineer. And let's say my voice was too low and theirs was loud.
I would have to get in there. You know, fix it. Now, Buzzsprout, make sure, like, I don't know how loud I'm talking, they're making sure my voice is consistent with, with Jenny's voice. And, and then if you want, they give you four different titles and they give you the transcript and, but, but because I, I do what I teach, I go on to chat GPT.
I asked them for four titles. I choose theirs. They're usually better to me. And then I, like I just did, I have a podcast coming, an interview coming up and I'm like, okay, this is who she is. Please write me a description because I don't have the effort or the time. Saves you time. So now I'm putting out an episode twice a week because it's that easy.
And AI is what makes it easy for me. I mean, then you can, let me give you one more tip. So when Jenny was on my podcast after it was over, I said, Hey, Jenny, be looking for reels. And I know an AI system that makes pretty decent reels. What I mean is, like, Jenny's on the top, or I'm on the bottom, it's like a, it's like, it's a 9 by 14, you know, for reels.
And so I send her, or I send my guest, guess what? You get to be on their audience. I'm not normally on their audience, and Jenny's probably not, but I got to give it to Jenny, and she got to put it on her audience. That to me is just, you know, there's ways to monetize it. Let's take those baby steps. So I, as you can tell, I'm quite passionate about podcasting.
And when you, when I found out you had one out, I was just like jumping up and down. I'm in the, I'm in the grand sense of your life, girl. Always waving a white towel. I'm so proud of you. So, did I get a little crazy on that ? Nope.
You explained a lot of details that, um, you know, people, um, probably need to know, you know, when they, they go into podcasting.
So, you know, the more that you kind of hear these details, the, the, the easier it is, like, okay, you know, I've heard this once before, you know, okay, now I understand DS script a little bit more.
Or, yeah. And then, you know, my title is Podcasting Made Easy. With a I, and the easy part is just, you know, I, if you have a bad view of a, I just, it's not, you know, like this guys, this is a pin a eyes a pin.
It can be in good hands and it can be in bad hands. Why don't we get it in more kingdom hands? So we can have podcasts like this. So we can have words like this. So, and it doesn't replace a genuine test. It doesn't, we're not trying to, we're not leaving out the human element. Okay. Like on a description, I can't show my personality, but if I'm going to write a post, I'm not going to copy and paste exactly what it says.
Although you can't train AI to know your voice and stuff it with all your writings and it gets pretty close. I know this isn't an AI talk, but I just. I do enjoy. And you know what I love? I, you know, I do have courses, but those that are dear to me, I've been training them more and more and I love it.
They're using it. She's like, Oh, yeah, I just used AI and able to help me write my article a little better. So, let's talk about speaking out. We need anyone listening. You need to get in touch with Virginia and ask her more about that Speaker Academy, because you're not going to be alone. It's a great way to enter in to Girl Power Alliance.
And then you realize, wow, there's not just the speaker, there's the leadership, there's coaching, there's other courses, like you said, a podcasting course, there's an AI course in there right now. I think, I think speaking would be a great way. to enter Integral Power Alliance. What do you think? I think
so, too.
It, um, I know I have, um, a couple of girls that I've brought into, uh, GPA that that's That's where they, they wanted to come in. It piqued their interest so much, you know, because when you go to, um, like the John Maxwell, um, uh, training, it's really expensive,
10 to 15 grand, if not more. Yeah.
Yeah. And, and you don't get that, um, intimate.
Coaching that we got from those four coaches, um, that were training us. And I mean, when you get a seven figure earner in the network marketing industry, and she gives you feedback in love that just inspires you. Yeah. I mean, because I know, cause I sat there and watched most every single one of the, the first day.
Yeah, of the practice run, right? And so I got to see the second day. I'm like, wow, And I got to hear all the feedback and I mean I was taking notes as fast
as I could learn from the feedback You know, and I didn't know they were gonna have a practice day and I was so glad because I you know They spent about 25 minutes with me you know because I was Kind of all over the place,
but it was in love. I mean, I didn't feel like they had a note there and said, I just felt like they made me a better speaker. I didn't need to go back to the bedroom and think, okay, what is this really going to be about? Because mine was all over the place, but it's okay. I think it was the best lesson, you know, I've ever learned.
And from that all over the place to the Kim 10 I delivered. I looked at him like, I'll never do a Kim 10 like that. I had a time and a place to share my story a little more in detail, but now. I'll, I'll share skeletons of it because I, I believe this is what I am. My, I, I, my husband died from cancer, but it was a tough marriage.
Okay. We had a lot of narcissistic situations in there. And uh, so I want to help women with that and, and speak words of hope and maybe even escape. But, um, I, I told him this and Michelle said, Oh, you should start it with that. And this is what it would be. I'm so glad my husband died. But I'm not against the covenant of marriage.
I'm not against guys. Good looking drunk, good looking man. I'm my, it's gonna turn, but this is my story. Mm-Hmm. . And, and then, you know, my heart is to be a voice revivalist. And then I wanna be able, even with some humor, 'cause that's a heavy subject, dealing with someone narcissistic, uh, you know, in the house.
That's a touchy story, but. I think there's a way to deliver it. I'm not a comedian. Uh, Michelle wants me to be a comedian. That's not who I am, but I can use just humor. You're funny. Just by being me and bring in. So I'm excited. I want it. I want it to be my signature talk. So why wouldn't I go through Girl Power Alliance again?
I have that in my toolbox. I didn't want to go through the coaching yet. I want to harness the speaking because really guys, you know, this. Virginia, probably better than most people. We're on stage every day. If we flip that iPhone on, that's a stage. If Jenny goes on with Zoom and she's got video on, that's a stage.
It's a stage, even if she doesn't have video, because her voice is going to be carried somewhere. There are so many stages. That we get to harness the power of the Internet and really impact people. Back in 2009, when there was no Facebook, no Twitter, God laid in my heart, He said this phrase, Speak, because the world's listening online.
And I'm thinking, yeah, okay. Churches don't figure out yet that, They need to use the internet. That was 2009. Now full circle into 2024. Oh my goodness. We need to speak because the world is listening online. They're canceling their, their TV subscriptions and they're watching YouTube all are they're watching their favorite sermon.
You know, it's, it's the reality, but instead of bashing it. I like what Jenny's doing. She's using it for good. Uh, she's using her voice on a podcast, which is just so awesome. So come on in on the speaker, contact Jenny in the show notes after this and say, Hey, talk to me more about what you and Teresa were talking about, because this is the best way to get into an amazing organization.
Girl power lines. And I wrote down the, the, I didn't have my mission statement, but it's like to empower women to dream bigger, grow. And can I say it? Doggone it, make money. Why be ashamed about making money? So anyway, that gets me fired up.
That's right. You know, and just speaking about money, you know, I had a lot of, um, bad money over that, you know, and, and what, and GPA, Girl Power Alliance has really helped me discover that I had a bad money mindset.
And, you know, and, and we need to, um, Have women become unwealthy because women are the catalyst in their community and women are held back because they don't have the money to do their visions and their dreams, then, you know, that holds them back because God plants when he made you in your mother's womb in the secret place, he instilled That, um, calling into your life, your purpose, your purpose here on earth is to, is to equip, um, more disciples to get more disciples for Jesus and help equip them so that they can spread the message.
And God gives us each a special message to share. About him, and he gives us special callings to do it because Teresa is not a farm girl like me You know, that's gonna go milk cows and stuff like that We have different backgrounds God gives us different backgrounds and different callings, but we all have the same purpose But he is an abundant father And he even tells us that in John 15 15 that you know, he brings us abundance, you know, and so if we say, Oh, no, we're broke.
No, that's like slapping Jesus across the face and tell him he's a liar. And so now I'm like, Nope, I'm not broke. I am working to be wealthier. And so, and with what And I believe that God has given me this podcast as a tool to help me grow my wealth. And I also believe that God gave me a GPA in this community of women so that I can grow my voice.
And also, I believe that God gave us this, um, he gave us the, the women, the leaders that came together to put this kingdom speaker academy course together in a way that women and now it's open to men too, that women and men can come together and they can create this message in a safe. Place and they can present it, you know, the first day, you know, in a safe place and get safe feedback, you know, where they're not going to feel like they're stupid.
Cause I was a little concerned about, you know, when actually staying and listening to all these, uh, women, you know, that first day, cause the first thing I thought about, and it was this gunk thought, you know, And my whole, um,
I don't know how you stayed in the 1st day. I had so many nerves. I couldn't stay.
I stayed for the 2nd day, but the 1st day, that was a tough day to stay in there and listen. Oh,
I just. I got so ingrained in because I'm like, okay, I'm going to watch at least, you know, until my time and that, and then I'm going to probably sit back and just watch a couple more and that, because I was afraid that I would start like thinking, oh, mine wasn't good enough.
And that, you know, cause I was having those skunk thoughts in and that, but then what I, what I found out is every woman had such a unique message, such a unique calling, such a different, unique background that my message was. Was impactful. Yeah. And that, and so was everybody else's. No. And, and I just, oh my goodness.
I couldn't, like, I could not leave. I mean, I held That's cool. You know, and it was just like, the more I listened, the more I just got like excited about the next day that I was just gonna nail mine. And, you know, I pretty much did.
You did. You know, and it was like revival though, from watching people kind of work it out the stuff by the final day.
I, every talk was just like, I'm so good. I enjoyed that. I, I, I guess, you know, if you enjoy growing and learning, I mean, Jimmy's being honest. She just was, that was her gift to herself. And she is now a better speaker, not just that she has a podcast, but Jimmy can go on live. She has no problem telling you whether it's Tik Tok or on her Facebook page or that's a gift that kind of spills over and don't you think in this day, Jenny, that we almost have to know how to communicate on video.
I mean, some people say I hate video, but that is the way of the future. So, well,
and the way and the reason why it's the wave of the future and you'll get a better algorithm on social media. The reason why is because. When you're on video, people see your heart. Yes. You can't hide behind the screen because people can see into your eyes and they can see your heart because you know, your eyes are the,
you know.
I started following you on, um, TikTok and I, I think even before I knew you and you're right, your eyes and the way you, you were so kind when you talk to people that comes through. Look at Michelle Tufford. She's one of our leaders. She does videos all the time and she's just as real as you can get, you know?
And so I just like. And I know some of my favorite people. I eventually found them on videos and, and, you know, sometimes you make messages back and forth and sometimes you make a lifetime connections. I mean, there's the sky's the limit. So. Yeah, I don't have to be alone. You know, sometimes it's a lonely place.
I, I know I need community around me. I have few, but sometimes the only community I can personally find is just like this or going to a girl power lines meeting or meeting with my team or just talking. Um, it's just. It's just amazing. I mean, the other day I had one meeting after another. I must've had six meetings and just, I'm in another mastermind.
So that adds some sometimes. And I'm like, Oh my gosh, I was tired at the end of the day. Believe you me, Jenny and I also in this business where you save money with your, with your debit and credit cards. And so it's like, okay, I'm tapping out now, nine 30, 10 o'clock. But that, but do you see that's joy to be able to.
Do what you love and be surrounded by people. So it's joy.
