How can you enhance your impact by developing a skill that you already possess? How can a mind shift change, make your voice and message have more impact not only in your business, but also in your personal relationships?  Do you want to express what matters to you clearly?

Have you ever been at the end of the year when you're going through your goals and dreamless, and seeing what you got accomplished in the year and what you didn't. Get accomplished. How does it make you feel?  Good.  Or does it most of the time make you feel disappointed? In yourself. Frustrated making you feel like you're on a rat wheel of life and never going anywhere.  You see. 'cause that's how I felt at the end of 2022.

I had just gone through a very trying year in helping my husband go through his two liver transplants.  I had to shelf my business for a few months while I had more farm and family priorities come up that had needed my undivided attention. I felt stuck. I felt that my voice didn't matter.  Hmm.  You know, it's funny how God works sometimes.

Isn't it. Just as I was pouring out my frustrations to God and prayer on new year's Eve day in 2022. I heard God telling me you are going to do a podcast next year.  I immediately am like Moses and start telling God all the reasons why I can't do a podcast.  I am technically challenged. I am not creative enough to come up with content for a podcast weekly.  I don't know enough.

I don't have a big enough online audience. I gave God all the excuses, just like Moses gave God all the, the excuses when God asked Moses to step up and lead.  His people out of Egypt.

And I also told God, he was crazy to think that I could do something as big as creating a podcast.  But after having my little meltdown with God, he calmly said, daughter, I will equip you and I will give you a podcast coach to help you put it all together. Remember I called the unequipped and equip them to do my work so that I get the glory. And you know what he did equip me through the kingdom speaker academy.

And by going through that academy, God showed me who was going to be my podcast coach.

Welcome to the harvest without the hustle, your podcast destination for unlocking the power of effective communication. Communication skills, enabling you to recap a bottom full harvest without the overwhelm. Join in, as we share our discussion of what we both learned going through the kingdom speaker academy last year.

Hi, Jen. I am so excited that you're here with, with us in the Harvest Without the Hustle podcast.

I'm excited, too, because, you know, hustling, it gets old after a while, so I'm ready for the harvest.

Bring it. Let's do it. Yes, let's

bring it.  So, both of us went through, uh, Kingdom Speaker Academy, um, and we both got certified as, as speakers.  Which was really exciting. So I just wanted to ask you a few questions about, you know, going through the academy and then how that, um,  you know, what you learned  and how, how did you implement that so that you have more success?

Because obviously, You are having tremendous success, especially after the certification.  So,  one of the questions I wanted to ask you is, um, is, In what ways do you believe the Kingdom Speaker Academy has equipped you with the tools and mindset necessary to leverage podcasting as a powerful platform?  For personal and professional development.

That's a question with a lot of Ps in it. Podcasting, powerful platform, personal, professional development.  I don't know how many Ps my answer has, but I can answer that question, Jenny. So let's see, when I think about the Kingdom Speakers Academy,  I think about how much I didn't know before I went in. So when I was a kid, I always loved, actually, I always got in trouble for using my voice.

Thanks. Always. I was too loud. I needed to be quiet because people didn't want to hear me talk. And now I talk for a living and that's probably not atypical for all of us who got in trouble for being too loud and too noisy when we were kids. So I love the microphone. I loved recording things and playing all that kind of stuff.

So as  I think about how I got equipped, I understood  that being on stage was a craft. And I didn't understand that before because I have a natural gift for speaking, a natural sense of experiencing joy when I'm on a stage. So give me a microphone, put me on a stage, and I light up. It is my candy.  What I learned in the Kingdom Speaker Academy was,  I needed to understand that it was a craft and that no matter what my natural talent was, I had a responsibility to hone my gift.

So it's kind of like when the master gives out the minas  and I didn't realize it, but there was a part of my talent that I was burying  and going through the academy and helped me unearth that to understand. Hey, I need to know how to put a talk together and I need to do it in 10 minutes. And the reason for the 10 minutes is to create power and impact.

So that was probably my biggest, the biggest tool that I took away is understanding you need to break your talk down into pieces and then you need to bring it all together coherently. So that was really a tool that equipped me to have a really good. Talk. Wow.

So yes, I know that As a little girl too, I got in trouble talking too much And and I would always um, that was the one thing that my parents would always get on my report card. She talks too much  Um, so yes, and I think sometimes that really keeps us, um,  you know, it keeps us from having impact when we Don't know how to craft what we want to say.

And that helped me a lot to going through the kingdom speaker academy was really learning how to craft my message in 10 minutes instead of just rambling. So keeping that in mind, let's go on to question number two.  Okay.

So Jen, how did, uh, Kingdom Speaker Academy help you with your mindset? You know, when you come to speaking on stage?

That's a great question. I, and I can't help but think about how you trained us in skunk thoughts when you took the stage for your Kim 10. And it just brings joy to my heart to think about that.

So it helps you eliminate those skunk thoughts that you'd like to talk about. When I think about mindset, I think about a soapbox issue that I have. So if you stick around with me for about 30 seconds or more, you'll learn that I have a lot of soapbox issues. And this is my main one that in order for us to get better, we have to practice.

We must practice, practice, practice because that practice grows our confidence so that  when we're wondering, Hey, can we do this? We can draw from our training to say. Yes, we can. And it really is a biblical principle that comes from one of my favorite scriptures where God has been teaching me quite a bit about  our transformation, that in Romans 12, one and two, it says you must sacrifice your body.

Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice so God can do the transforming and the renewal of your mind.  So in relation to the Kingdom Speaker Academy, I needed to sacrifice what I thought was the Right. My way that, Oh, well, this is how you speak. This is how you show up. This is how you make an impact. And I needed to be willing to listen to the coaches and I needed to practice some new things.

And it is a mindset shift of looking at something in a new way. Because we like to be comfortable  when we are challenged in our mindset, that's uncomfortable for us. So I would say that's probably  the most important aspect was  willing to be open to learning a new way of showing up. So that when I took the stage, that I approached it, Very differently.

And I know I listened to the episode that you had with lemon and talking about the differences between day one and day two, when we all came and showed up on the stage and day one, we were very nervous and, uh, We didn't perform at all in the same way that we did on day two after receiving and implementing the coaching, the outstanding coaching that we received.

So I think, I think the mindset to accept change and practice implementing that change.

Yes. And I noticed that too. It was such a difference when we, um, Kind of changed our mindset and we stepped up on stage as, as a different person, as a renewed person with our mindset. I know it really helped me to eliminate a lot of the skunk thoughts  for sure.

And so  here's a, here's another question that I'm kind of curious about your, um,  About I don't know what the word is here. Um,  let me redo this. Here's the next question that I want to, um, kind of get some of your insight on about how the kingdom speaker academy, um, really helped you integrate the principles and teachings, um, into your podcast content creation process.

Well, that's such a great question. So I've been podcasting, it's been about three and a half years now.  And when I first sat down to record, I was a clueless wonder. I didn't really understand what I was getting into. And my podcast was not very strong because I lacked confidence. I lacked a process. I just sat down and started talking, thinking, Oh, well, people will want to hear what I have to say because I want to help them.

And I didn't structure things in a way that helped people understand what to expect when they showed up. So when I think about the Principles of preparing a talk. I think about  a framework and inside the Kingdom Speaker Academy, there is a specific framework that we follow to share our stories. And it was very helpful for me to understand how to open.

And how to close and then what to do in the middle. So I would say that is that has been the most powerful lesson that I'm taking away and I use it every single time I think about the power of story when I open my podcast episodes and my podcast openings are so much stronger.  Because I have the know how, because I have a tool to use, and also because I have a lot more confidence.

The more you do, the more confident you become. And well, I mean, I'm so confident that I laugh at my own jokes now when I'm recording a podcast, because you know, as podcasters, we record all by our lonesome, and we must be entertained to keep moving forward. So, I would say that I'm definitely more confident and have more fun.

I have a lot more fun creating because I'm very clear on what I want to do.

Yes, and I am learning the power of Of fun and also the power of having that structured, um,  having that structured way that you put together a podcast where you put together a talk, because if you don't have structure, it just kind of all falls apart.

And then you're kind of running around, you know, like a dog chasing its tail. So,  and so the next question I want to be asking you is have there been any notable synergies between your experiences with podcasting and the kingdom speaker academy that have contributed to your overall growth as a speaker and

entrepreneur?

Wow. That's a loaded question. Synergies.  Sure. Uh, I think when I think about the community inside the community, where the speaker academy is.  The more you show up, the more you participate, the more relationships that you build. And when we build relationships inside a community where people are for each other, that there really is not competition in the kingdom.

I know that's a catchphrase and kingdom entrepreneurship, yet it's lived out inside of GPA, that there isn't competition inside of there. That there's. Collaboration. So being, uh, more bold in sharing, I think, uh, is one of the big takeaways that I would say. And the, the synergy is that people know more about what I'm passionate about.

So I get to share more of that and that just revs me up. So it's this ongoing, um,  I don't even know what to call it.  For me, it's a natural high to share what I love doing. So whether it's helping women create their own podcast or improve their own podcast, or whether it's teaching them about the power of planning, for example, another area of passion that I have.

I love all of it. So I love that being able to share. So I think the synergy comes from culture that's fostered inside the community. It's very encouraging and supportive.

Yes. And I believe that too. That's one of the things that really attracted me to Girl Power Alliance GPA was that It's the community and, and how much encouragement and how much empowerment and equipping and that is, you know, part of my mission is to, um, encourage women to empower women and to equip women, especially in the network marketing field, because  let's face it, we need it because we can get discouraged very easily.

But when you have a community of women that you can dive deep into and you can ask for help and you can ask for like, okay, I know this is a weakness I have and I need help in equipping myself so that I can become confident  in this area.

Yeah. I mean, without the community, you and I would not be having this conversation right now.

I know.  And, and because I went to Kingdom Speaker Academy, because just as a little side story for y'all, um, you know, and you probably heard some of this. In some of the other, um, podcast interviews I've had with, um, some of my kingdom speaker academy friends,  you know, uh, God had laid it on my heart to, at the end of 2022  to, um, get myself  You know equipped to do a podcast and of course if y'all know me technology is a struggle  So I'm just like Oh Lord.

I don't know if I can do that Lord, and he's like, nope He says I'm gonna make ways for you And so he did part of it was the kingdom speaker Academy and then also, you know He told me that When I went to the certification, I would find my podcast, podcast coach,  and he did, he waited to the very last minute at the party, um, that we had at the end of the certification.

But, uh, he told me to turn around and he said, there would be your podcast coach. And I turned around and there was Jen.

I love that story. I love, I love your obedience in that story. And I will testify that your technology skills have up leveled. Dramatically. In fact, we're recording on a new platform right now because I said, Hey, Jenny, do you want to try this new one while we record this episode?

And you said, Yes. Yes.  I

love to learn,  especially with you,

Jen.  You do. And it's so inspiring. So encouraging. I do pray that as you're listening to this episode that you are inspired and you know, wherever you are on your speaking journey or on your podcasting journey, that once you decide that you want to pursue it and you commit to pursuing it, You absolutely can pursue it.

When I think about that stage that we were standing on, when we went inside of the room, there was a smaller stage and the letters Kim for Kingdom Impact Message were there, and then the number 10 for the 10 minutes.  And when I looked at that, and I saw all the light bulbs on the Kim 10,  I got a little nervous.

I'll say I got a little nervous. And then I thought, Oh no, I can do this. It'll be great. It'll be, it'll, it'll be great. And I realized when I got on stage to deliver my talk for the first time that I was woefully underprepared,  even though I thought I was fully prepared.  And as we received the feedback from the coaches  and took all of that back to our rooms and worked on our talks to show up on the next day.

It really became more about how can I engage the audience in what I'm delivering that on day one, it was about Jen, like, how can I do this thing well, but on day two, it was about how can I engage the audience and how can I create value for them. And that really goes to your earlier question about the value of the kingdom speaker Academy, which I'm realizing fully right now.

Is that. Whenever we talk, whenever we do a podcast, it's not for us. It's for you who is listening because  we want. To take our expertise and we want to share it because we've been through the school of hard knocks and whatever our area of expertise is, and we don't want you to be there. So if you are at all interested in podcasting or in speaking or in, gosh, I don't know, a number of areas  heading on over to check out the link for the speaker Academy or for that, what do you call it?

The sneak peek inside the sneak peek where you can see the membership for 24 hours, I highly recommend you go take a sneak peek because. There's so much stuff that's in there that's valuable training, and  You know, listen, as I think about it, let's say you don't want to be a podcaster. Let's say you don't want to go on stage and speak, that that is not your jam.

I wonder, would you like to have more influence in your home?  Would you like to have more influence in your family?  Would you like to be able to articulate what's important to you? When it's important to you?  If you're struggling in those areas, going through a training like this is one of the best ways to help you use your words in a powerful way.

in an environment that fosters growth and really love, love and encouragement. This is the place. It's absolutely the place. So I'm not sure if you've touched on that, Jenny, or not, but you do not need to want to be a professional speaker, speak on stages or be a podcaster for this to be of value to you as a woman growing in confidence and being able to speak  life into other people and into your families, into your businesses.

Yes. And I agree with everything you said.

That makes me want to come up with something that you would disagree with to see where this would go. But let me say something

different. Um,  thank you for the description.

Yes. Um, and, and also, you know, just like what you said, Jen, um, you don't have to like be on stage, um, in order to have, um, You know what the Kingdom Speaker Academy will teach you, you know, you don't have to be doing a podcast  and that I know there are several girls that took the actual nine week Kingdom Speaker Academy and I got to see how much they showed up, um, better on their Facebook lives, uh, just with their social media posting, you know, they became a whole lot more confident.

And you know, and also, you know, some of the girls and I, we were talking at the kingdom speaker Academy and they also said, you know, how much after going through the kingdom speaker Academy, they realized how much their voice was, was staying quiet just in their local community in their household.  And, and how much they realized that, you know, um, there's actually one of the gals is like a mom, I think of five girls.

And she came back and she's like, I realized I was putting labels on myself and she said, and she says, going through the speaker academy, it's actually part of her Kim 10. She's like, I realized I could just take those labels off. She's, I had the power to take those labels off and I had the power just to show up.

As the real authentic me. And I'm like, yeah,  I can do that too.

I was going to say, I think you walk away really appreciating who you are more as a woman, that you gain clarity on what you're good at too. And the things that you like, I think oftentimes it gets overshadowed. We, we don't give ourselves permission to take time to think about what's important to us and what we do.

Like, and so as you go through this process of evaluating your voice, I mean, I think one of the most common things is probably, Oh, I hate how I sound when I listen to my recording. And yet God has given you this voice. He has gifted it to you and he's asking you to use it in a powerful, influential way.

Yes, and even though you probably can't hear my true voice today because I have a code from Double h hockey sticks and that it's and that but I normally like my voice   but I Before going through the kingdom speaker academy. I wasn't bold and now I am bold  because now I know I have the confidence to speak I Know that you know, I can come up with a good message.

I can come up with. Um You know, answers on the fly, because, you know, when someone asked me questions and that I can think about, you know, how will this, um, influence the person I'm talking to, how will this person, you know, what I'm saying, how will this person,  how will this help them grow? And I think that is one of the things that I learned going through Kingdom Speaker Academy.

It's not about me. It's about the other person. And how can I make. The other person grow from what words come out of my mouth, because, you know, our voice is a powerful tool. I mean, even the Bible tells us, you know,  how powerful our voice is. And that's why the devil with those little nasty little skunk thoughts like to keep it, keep you down  and you have the power to stop

them.

That's right. That's exactly right. And that's why it's really important that we have our noses in the good book. So we know what God's word says about who he calls us to be, who he has created us to be and the gifts that he has given to us. Yeah. I love that. Me

too. Okay. Let's, I wanted to ask you this, this other question.

What advice would you give to aspiring speakers and podcasts looking to enhance their impact and confidence  drawing from your own journey with both the kingdom speakers academy and podcasting?

Hire a coach.  It's as simple as that. Whether you join the membership and take advantage of the trainings that are in there, that's coaching.

Whether you hire me to help you with your podcast, that's coaching.  You can't do it on your own fast for one, and you won't do it as well on your own. It's really important to learn from other people who have already gone there and can save you. The hurdles, the common hurdles that we all experience when we're trying something new.

So in whatever way, shape or form you do it, hire a coach, take the shortcut. When my husband and I are driving a lot of times, we take what I call the long cut because we take the wrong turn. I said, okay, we're taking the long cut. I do not recommend taking the long cut when you want to. Elevate your voice, uh, hire a coach.

And I am so grateful that, um, God gave me you as my coach and I would strongly encourage anybody that's wanting to, um, get out there and start doing a podcast. You know, get ahold of Jen. I'll have her information in the notes  below this podcast.  And, and just reach out to her because she's amazing. She, she will take you, uh, from, you know, being this not knowing exactly what you want.

I mean, cause we all, you know, when we start out with, you know, we want to do this podcast, you know, we all like, oh yes, you know, we want to do this podcast, but you know, you have no idea like how to. You know, come up with the structure of it and what to say, you know, how much to say, you don't know how to, um, reach out and talk with others,  you know, about what you want to say.

And she was just able to like, okay, Jenny, you know, here's the framework.  And this is how we go step by step and in such a way that I was able to take it in and learn it along with the technology. Cause there is a little bit of technology you have to learn with podcasts,  you know, and even the simple things like, okay, what speaker do I get?

You know, because if you go to Amazon, you're going to see like a thousand different speakers. And, and I was talking to one girl, you know, that That tried to do it all on her own. And she's like, yeah, she says I've gone through six speakers and I still haven't got one. So she says, wait a minute,

wait a minute.

You mean the microphone, right? The mic. So yeah, yeah, yeah. The microphone. Although I guess you could be searching for a speaker too, but yes, a microphone, it's a big discussion and the longer you talk about your microphone or your speaker, we can call it a speaker. That's totally cool. The longer you spend looking for that, the less time you have in moving forward on actually creating.

Your podcast. So again, hire a coach. And I will say, I know that you're dropping these episodes because the Kingdom Speaker Academy is opening up again in April of 2024.  The, uh, Podcasting 101 course that I contributed to GPA is also dropping in April. So this is all the more reason for you to jump on inside the membership and get started with GPA.

There's so many opportunities inside of the community for sure. Yes.

Thanks, um, Jen, for coming on here today and being able to, um, just, you know, share your knowledge and your wisdom. And one more question, Jen, how can people,

To promote or?  No, you don't want to do that because you don't want it to sound like a promotion. So where can people find you is a great thing to ask. Okay.

So, so Jen, uh, where can people find you so that they can get, um, your wisdom?

Like I got your wisdom.

Well, let's see, I guess they could hit the replay on this podcast and they could hear some more of it again. You can find me at coachjenrodgers.  com. Now listen, I am not married to Aaron Rodgers, uh, so there's no D in my last name. So it's coachjenrodgers,  R O G E R S.  com. And if you're interested in podcasting, you can find details about the next 90 day sprint that's happening.

And that's exactly what Jenny went through, a 90 day podcast sprint.  Before we go. I have to ask you a question. Can I ask you a question?  I have a podcaster. So it's a little role reversal here  Do you remember when you wanted to quit?

Oh, yes, I had just  you know I was just so stressed out. I didn't think that I could do it.

I was like I was having some financial Stresses at that time too just with everything and I called her up one day and I'm just well Actually, I sent her a message and said I think i'm just over I'm, i'm just too much over my head with this And and she basically said oh, I don't think so She says let's just hop on a call right now and let's talk this through And so by the end of the call we had talked it through and um She had broken down a couple things that I just need to work on and she's like just do those And then we'll take it in the next step And so that's what I love about Jen.

She's just like, okay, whatever problem you have, we'll just break it down, take it to the next two steps.

Yeah. I wanted to ask you that because a lot of times when we're doing things that we are unfamiliar with, where we are uncomfortable, we want to quit. We think maybe we chose the wrong thing. Maybe I didn't really hear what God said.

Maybe it's okay that I back off. And, and, and, and so if you're wondering,  is the Kingdom Speaker Academy for me?  Then it's time to pursue an answer on that. If you do nothing else, check out the sneak peek so you can see what's going on inside the community. So you can make a more informed decision about whether or not this is the right place for you.

Um, there's so much goodness here and I, I, I couldn't recommend the Kingdom Speaker Academy. Any more than what I do, it's absolutely top notch experience. And you know what else? If you decide to go all the way, so you can do the training, so it's nine weeks of training. And then if you want to uplevel your game, you can go and give your talk on stage and get a professional speaking production done as well.

So for me, I'm a professional speaker and I needed a speaker reel so that I could put it on my website, which is what I'm working on right now.  And I got the, I got it. And it's, it's incredible. It's top notch. Not so everything is well done. Everything is I don't know what the level is. It's professional.

That's it. Everything is professional level. You'll find the utmost professionalism inside the community.

Yes, you can. And and that is it's professional.  You wouldn't even believe it until you're in it and you can see for yourself.
