Welcome back to Harvest Without the Hustle. I'm your host, Ginny Hatfield, and today you're in for such a treat. We're digging into something that's near and dear to my heart. Gardening, but not just the physical sense. Today we're talking about how gardening parallels the way we grow our kingdom businesses, stewarding the gifts god's given us, and build true wealth spiritually and financially. Joining me is the lovely Sharon Stark, creator of an incredible gardening course that doesn't just teach you how to grow vegetables. It teaches you how to cultivate a life that bears fruit in every season. Sharon is a beautiful example of someone who's taken her God-given passion, plugged it into the Kingdom Alliance community, and is now growing something that impacts others and brings income online all while staying rooted in purpose. Okay. Awesome. Thank you. I'm so excited to be Here and to have a chat with you. And I do love all the things that we have in common. I, of course, have loved nature since I was young, and so I'll start there is what drove me and planted that seed way back then. But when I was little, there was some abuse that went on in my home and. Whenever I was able to sneak away to just find quiet space and to rejuvenate myself, I would go outside and eventually I started literally just creating my own little garden when I was like 11. My parents had lots of property, so I just took this little section and I made it my garden. And to this day, they still call it, Sherin's garden. and so anytime that I needed to calm myself or just to pray and think, I would take my scriptures and I would go down there and I would just spend time. And I loved that and I didn't understand what I do now, but I knew that I felt love in that space. And so I ended up going into landscape design because I knew I loved plants and I knew I wanted to create a safe space for people in their own yards to be able to have that sacred time with the Lord. So I graduated in that and then I became a mother. And that kind of consumed me, which it does when you have more kids. And so I just kind of do it on the side here and there and refer people, you know, oh, hey, this is what you can do, or here's some ideas, or things like that. And then, of course, my own yard. But, I really started realizing probably about four years ago the connection of God and gardening, and just being able to be out there and hear his voice when I'm out weeding or planting carrots, and all of a sudden he starts talking to me and I was like, oh, wow. I wasn't expecting that. And so I started taking a journal out to the garden with me so that I could hear him and commune with him. It just became my sacred space. So that's what I am trying to do now, is teach other women how to have a sacred space in your garden. Wow, that's awesome. So how did you first get to hear God? What did that look like? I think it was, it really was not that long ago. When I first heard him, my youngest is six and she was about eight months old when it was like, oh, somebody just talked to me and nobody's here. And that was literally, he called me by name and he talked to me. However, that's not normally how I hear God. Normally, it's in, just in my mind like. I can hear him just say, Sherin I have information for you. And I'm like, okay. And I get out my journal and I just journal and it just pours into my mind. But it's probably been about five and a half years of having that daily conversation with him, whereas before it was like, oh, that was nice. I got a spirit prompting to go do something or somebody felt like they should reach out to me and that felt good. But I didn't understand how to connect or that he wanted to connect with me. I think oftentimes God's way over here and we're just little tiny people that he doesn't really care about and that's not how it is. He wants to have a daily conversation with you and with me and with everybody. We are the ones that aren't going and taking that still time to hear him. And so that's when I found, oh, he comes to me when I'm gardening because I'm still, I'm taking that quiet time, connecting with earth and listening and not the chaos of the world, all around me. Yep. I have found the same way too. the first time I heard God, was when I was at Walmart. I think it was like three days before my husband's, liver transplant. And I heard him say, will you trust me with your husband's health? And of course, I like, I. Being a farm wife, I'm like, oh, hell no, because us farm wives are totally control freaks. And then it was right in front of the dairy case, so God does have a sense of humor that is funny. And that, and then I thought, I am definitely, lacking in sleep. So I must be going crazy. Walked a few feet away from that, and I heard the same gentle voice again. Say, do you trust me with your husband's health journey? And I'm like, no. Walked a few more feet. And then I heard the most gentle voice in the world say, daughter, do you trust me with your husband's health journey? And then all of a sudden it clicked in my mind, oh crap, this is God. Because I remembered, Samuel's story in the Bible and I'm like. Oh yeah. Yes. I do trust you. I trust you. No matter what, whether you heal him here on earth and find him a liver or whether you take him home and heal him there, I said, I just don't want my husband in pain anymore and being sick. I want him restored healthy. I said, and no matter what I said, I will. Praise you. Whether you take 'em home and heal 'em there, or whether you heal 'em here with a new liver, I'll trust you. I'll praise you no matter what. And as soon as I said that, just that beautiful, gentle, peaceful waterfall just came through me. I love that feeling. Mm-hmm. Yes. And that's when you know God is talking with you. 'cause you just had this. A waterfall going through you And I also, I hear 'em, when I'm in the Bible with them and I'm praying, especially on my prayer walks, that's like when I hear God the most is on my prayer walks when in the mornings. And I just hear 'em like, okay, jot this down. He just brings up an idea and I'm like, wow, I hadn't thought about that before. And then all of a sudden I get out my little notepad, on my phone, I stop and I jot that down and it's amazing. I go back through all these notes, like the last few years, and I'm just like, oh my goodness, look how this has been answered. Look how that has been answered. Who he reached out and shared something with me and it's amazing. It's, and I love how he builds. Like he told me at one point, if you don't write it down, I'm not gonna give you more because I can't build on it. And at first, when. I'll remember it and he is as you get older, you're not gonna remember it. And now I'm like, I can't remember what I did yesterday. So he totally understood that I was not gonna remember the older I got. And so, like you said, when I'm out on my prayer walks, I have a little note keep. And I. jot down and then when I go back I put it into my journal. And then when I'm doing my, scripture study time, I'm like, got my Bible there. And then I have my journal there and I have in the margins too. But that's usually just for like, oh, this correlates to this or whatever. But if I want, like if he's gonna talk to me, sometimes it's like pages. So I have to have both. but I just love how that way he can build and he's literally said to me. Remember last week when I was telling you about this, I'm gonna teach you more. And I'm like, oh, okay. But had I not written that down and reviewed it, he couldn't build on that. And so I think that is a key thing, is that we do take the time to write down what the Lord teaches us. Because it's that seed of thought that he needs to put down into the ground so it can grow and the ground is our mind so that we can just keep improving and keep getting closer to him. Keep getting the heart and the mind of Christ. Yeah, and I think that's where a lot of women are. Not having the opportunity to be discipled. And that's where, I wanna lead into Kingdom Alliance. Yeah. How has Kingdom Alliance helped, your growth? Immensely. So I guess I was a little bit prideful. and I didn't think I was, obviously, most of us don't think we're prideful when we're being prideful. But I was like, oh, I already study the scriptures. I already pray. I already do all things. I don't really need Kingdom Alliance. Sounds good, but is it something I need? So I drug my feet for a while and then life took me away from it because. I think God was like, I'll show you that you need it. so he me away from it for a while and I was just like, maybe that wasn't meant to be. But then I was just doing a regular type of job and I was so stressed, so overwhelmed, overworked. Mentally it was a really hard job 'cause it was customer service of people calling in and they're not very nice. And so I was like, I need that in my life. Like I need that connection. And that community, that was something that I had not seen before, is there was a lot of courses that I could go do online or things like that, but there wasn't a community of other like-minded, sisters and brothers that were wanting to improve themselves in the kingdom of God. And so that's where I was like, okay, maybe I'll just give it a try. So I did. And at first, I just kept still dragging my feet. I don't wanna do one of the academies. That's a lot of commitment, and then I did radiant leadership. Oh yeah. And after about three weeks, the Lord was like, so now do you still think you knew everything? And I'm like, no. So now I've been through all but one of the academies that I'm in, the newest one right now. Yeah, it's definitely improved my life. Yeah. What about you? Oh, yes. I am just so thankful that God planted me into this community because I got planted into this community, before my husband had his liver transplant, and so now I hadn't taken the Radiant Leadership Academy yet at that time, but I had been plugging into all the courses in the back and then also getting onto the, to the Mastermind calls and that they had back then. and so I was just like learning so much and I was like learning oh my goodness, I didn't know this. And I remember, lemon prices course in the back there. It's, mamas in the Word. And that was the first time I'd actually learned like how to study the Bible. and I was going through that, when my husband got his first liver transplant and, throughout his second. Transplant. 'cause we, that was like 10 days later. Oh gosh. That he had that, liver transplant. it gave me something that I could read and study and journal out. When I had to sit there and just be quiet so he could sleep. And, that was, amazing. 'cause it taught me my identity. And then by that September they had the next round. And I had seen the transformation of all these girls that had gone through the first round. And I'm like, I want that. God, make it possible. And so it was, and I went through six, times Radiant Leadership Academy because, every time it was just another layer got taken off me and then last, summer and fall when we went through the Wealth Academy. That was just like amazing. I learned how to flip my credit card interest instead of paying interest. I'm now making that amount of money, on my principal. So I'm whacking off credit card like crazy. Woo-hoo. so since last July I've paid off almost $7,000, that's awesome. And so that's been amazing. So let's talk a little bit about your course. 'cause it's an amazing gardening course. Share some highlights of whatever you wanna share about it. Okay, awesome. Yeah, I am so excited. So this was not something that I had on my mind at all. This was definitely a God download. And I was just minding my own business, getting stuff prepped to do, my own garden because I've been gardening. I think there was maybe two years in my entire marriage of 23 years that I didn't garden. So I've gardened a lot and I grew up with a garden from the time I was born. My mom always had one, it's always been a part of life, but I never really. Gardened, more than just like, oh yeah, it's nice to have fresh fruit food. This year in November, so past November, 2024, when I was praying one day, the Lord said, you need to grow a garden for food not to dabble. You need to provide for your family. You need to can and preserve because a famine is coming in the land. And I was like. What something you normally hear, right? So I was like, okay, I do grow a garden every year. And he said, and if you were to only live off the food that you grew, how long would that last? And I was like, two weeks. And he is like, it's time to step it up. And I was like, okay. So. In the middle of me planning all of this, probably about three weeks later, middle of December, he said, you need to create a gardening course. And I was like, what? Like, what do you mean? And I always ask questions 'cause he never gives the full information. I don't know if he speaks to you that way. But he doesn't. And then you have to go back and ask until it, until you get everything. So when I asked again, he said, people need to be prepared for my return and people need to learn how to grow food and to communicate with me while they're growing food. I was like, oh, okay. So a course on spirituality and food in one. Okay. So after multiple conversations back and forth, I had an idea of what I wanted or what he wanted me to do. And, so I just jotted down an outline and then just put it on the back burner. And then in February, he was like, Hey, remember that gardening course that I talked to you about? And I was like, yeah. And he goes, you need to do it and you need to do it now. And I was like. Next week? No, today. And I was like, today, okay. So I just knelt down and I said, Lord, that seems so overwhelming that I feel anxious about that. I feel like you're telling me that this is gonna reach millions. And that's a little scary 'cause I've never done something like that before. And he said, you sit down and start typing and I will fill your mind with what you need. And I was like, deal. And he did. And I had it written in a week. Which was crazy to me because I've done, courses before. Nothing to do with gardening, but I've done courses before and they've taken me months to create not a week. But it was just amazing because he just gave me the knowledge, the downloads of how to tie in the spiritual to the, gardening from preparing the soil all the way to harvest. And so it's, seven modules. And it has, very beginning from planning a garden and how much time are you gonna need to take and all of that kind of stuff. All the way to harvesting and what types of harvesting you are gonna do. Is it just you're gonna eat fresh or are you gonna preserve it? And here's the different forms of preservation and all of that kind of stuff. And it's available on my website. It's going to also be available in the kingdom, alliance. Courses, which is so cool. I'm so excited for that. But it hasn't come out quite yet, in there. And so if that's something you're like, Hey, I wanna get started and I wanna garden and I wanna have a better connection with the Lord, this is going to help you do that because it's full of scripture and, knowledge from God on how to, as you build your garden, enhance your relationship with him all. That is just gonna be a beautiful, resource to, to click into and to learn. 'cause I know there's a lot of women out there that, they would like to garden, but number one, they don't know. what plants am I supposed to plant? What, plants go with each other, how big of a garden do I need? And then what do I do with it after it's like grown and it's harvested, and a lot of people are afraid of canners cause they don't have the right resources and so this is gonna be awesome. That is just my landing page and it's got all my information on there. But that is at the top right now. So real easy to find. Okay. Awesome. So I will put that link in the bottom of my show notes so that you can just go and click on there and get straight to, Sherin And now, do you have a Facebook group? Yeah. Or anything too that you can get plugged into? I do the Facebook group and I talk about the Facebook group in there as well. And it's women rooted in Christ. Unfortunately, it's not a group for men, it's a sisterhood group. But it is available for anyone that would like to come and participate, which I talk about also in my course, the importance of companion planting as well as community for us. And trying to do it on your own is really hard. Especially a lot of people will tell me, oh, I really wanna do your course, but I have a black thumb. And I'm like, I wasn't born with a green thumb. You can learn, and so just knowing what to do if somebody just gives you a plant and you're like, I know plants need water, and that's all you ever do, it's not gonna survive. And that's what most people do. They don't take the time to go research, how do I take care of it? Oh, it needs a bigger pot. The roots are, smothering themselves in there, or it needs some, compost to help it grow better. Or, just different things like that. And so I go through all of that from the very foundation of, prepping your soil, what types of soil do you have, here's how to alter them. Here's how to grow in those soils, so it just, it's gonna be really step by step. The first time that I went to, any of the Kingdom Alliance events, I was like by myself, didn't really know anyone, and left being like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna miss you. It just was so good and. So Holy Spirit filled. And so that is what I would say is if you are looking for a better connection with the Holy Spirit, with Jesus Christ, kingdom Alliance is where it's at for everyone.
