Friend, let me ask you three honest questions today. One, are you tired of chasing success but still feeling weary, burned out, and unfulfilled? Two, what if you could replace skunk thoughts? You know those lies from the enemy with God. Thoughts that bring peace and truth. Scripture.
Number three, do you believe it's possible to live with faith, health, fun, and purpose in this season of life without striving or hustle? If any of those made you pause for a moment, friend, then today's episode is just for you. Now friend, the other day I was out in the garden trying to dig up potatoes
the ground was so dry and hard, I couldn't even get a shovel in the dirt. At first, I was very frustrated, so I tried even harder. And you know what I even did? I went and put on my hard boots instead of my tennis shoes. I thought maybe that would help. Unfortunately it didn't and then it hit me. Sometimes we do the same thing in life.
We buy more tools, take more courses, or pile on more to-do lists, hoping that will finally help us succeed instead of stopping to ask God to help us with our harvest plan. Friend. Isn't that how life feels sometimes? Just hard, like no matter how much we hustle or dig, the harvest just isn't coming up.
We work and strive trying to dig up success with our own strength, but the soil of our hearts gets dry and weary. Have you ever felt like that friend? Well, I know I have. Well, the next morning we had a nice long soaking rain overnight. I went back out and the ground was soft. The shovel slipped right in, and the potatoes came up easily, and I couldn't help but think that's exactly what the Holy Spirit does when we stop hustling and turn back to him.
His presence softens the hard places in our hearts. Suddenly, what felt impossible becomes possible, not because. We are working harder, but because he's working through us, well friend, welcome to Harvest Without the Hustle where faith meets real farm life and we learn how to live with purpose, peace, and joy without all that striving.
I'm your host, Ginny Hatfield, farm, wife, mom, grandma, and your modern day Proverbs 31 Farm Grandma mentor. After 30 years of life on the farm, raising a family and over 30 years in the network marketing field, plus becoming an A certified kingdom speaker, I've learned that true success isn't about hustling harder.
It is about learning to steward your life through the Proverbs 31 core values. Faith keeping God first family, honoring your husband and nurturing your home. Yes, I have a fly buzzing around me, so if that's what you hear or see on video, swatting away, you know, it's the farm life. I've got flies in my office.
So we have faith keeping God first, family, honoring your husband and nurturing your home health, stewarding your body and energy, finances, managing money wisely and growing your business God's way. Fun, making memories that fill your heart. Purpose. Walking in freedom and using and using purpose, walking in freedom, and using your gifts for his glory.
Friend. Grab your favorite beverage. Open up your heart, your mind, and your ear. So friend, grab your favorite beverage, open up your heart, your mind, and your ears, and get ready to hear the Holy Spirit whisper what he wants you to take from today's episode. And don't forget, the journal reflection questions will be in the show notes below, so you can come back later, write them out and share what God showed you by leaving a review on Apple Podcasts for me today.
Today, friend, we're digging into Colossians 2:3, where Paul reminds us that in Christ lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, friend, that means everything you're searching for. Peace, purpose, direction, and fulfillment isn't found in more hustle. It's found in him. We already have access to those treasures because the Holy Spirit lives in us.
All we have to do is go to him and ask for help. All we have to do is go to him and ask for help and guidance. So let's dive into question one.
Are you tired of chasing success but still feel worried, burned out and unfulfilled? Friend, here's the biblical truth behind that. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, come to me all who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest. Now, the world tells us success comes from doing more, but Jesus says, come. He doesn't ask us to hustle harder.
He asks us to rest deeper. Now, rest isn't laziness. It's obedience. It's trusting that God's plan doesn't need our striving, just our surrender. Shea Barnes and Grace over Grind writes rest is an awareness, an ongoing awareness of the presence of an unchanging and all powerful God in your life. It's not something you strive for, but something you awaken to rest isn't something you acquire.
It's something you access because it already lives inside you through Christ. Now you can read John 15 :4 and Colossians 1:27 to back this up.
Now, inside my Harvest without the Hustle Facebook group, I'm gonna be going into these six um, areas that you need to fit into your lifestyle and business so that you can rest in God and not always be in the hustle mode. Okay, I'm gonna go into them in more detail in there. But here's just six that you can write down. Meet with God regularly.
I do it every morning. make plans, but be flexible. God wants us to plan, but he also wants us to go to him and ask him for his plan. Okay? And then sometimes those change. So be flexible. Be diligent with the spirit of. Be diligent with a spirit of expectancy.
That means we know that God's gonna show up. Think about what you're thinking about. I'm gonna explain that one a little more in more detail in the Facebook group. Embrace sweet sleep. Holy reject anxiety. So like I said, I'm gonna be sharing those six key areas that will help you reset and rest in God instead of hustling in your own strength.
So if you're ready to live lighter and more aligned with his, with his rhythm of grace, make sure you join us there. The link is in the show notes below. And here is, um, your first reflection prompt. Where have you been striving in your own strength instead of resting in God's? So, journal that out.
Question number two, what if you could replace skunk thoughts with God? Thoughts that bring peace and truth? Here's a biblical truth, 2nd Corinthians 10:5 says, we must take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Those s gunk thoughts whispers. Those skunk thoughts, whisper lies like, you're not enough.
You'll never catch up. Everyone else is doing better than you, but God's word says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 You were chosen and dearly loved. Colossians 3:12 You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13, which is actually like my go-to verse.
Like whenever I get a skunk thought in my head, I turn it around quickly and I say I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Okay. And plus, since I was born on April 13th, I kind of think that's just. My go-to verse,
When we choose God's thoughts, peace settles in our hearts and truth becomes our filter. So here's your second reflection prompt for your journal. What skunk thought do you need to replace with a God thought today? Or maybe you need to replace several skunk thoughts with a God thought today. All right, question number three.
Do you believe it's possible to live with faith, health, fun, and purpose without striving or hustle? For a long time, I didn't think. It was possible, but now I know. And here's the biblical truth that backs it up. Jesus modeled this rhythm. Jesus modeled this rhythm in Mark 1:35 Before he performed miracles or taught crowds, he went to a quiet place to pray.
He didn't rush or multitask. He lived from divine alignment, not exhaustion. Faith gives us direction. Health gives us stamina, fun gives us joy. Purpose gives us meaning all four, flow naturally when Christ is at the center, not when we're chasing after them or apart from him. So here's your third reflection prompt for your journal.
What is one rhythm you could simplify this week to make more room for God's presence in your daily life? So in closing, friend, remember this, the treasures, you're searching for wisdom, peace. Clarity and joy are already hidden in Christ. You don't have to strive to find them. You just have to stay close to 'HIM
When you feel dry or weary. Let him soften the heart. When you feel dry or weary, let him soften the hard places of your heart like that rain soaked soil. Let him work through you instead of you trying to dig it all up on your own, you're not behind. You are being refined. And as you align your days with the Proverbs 31 Women's core values, faith, family, health, finances, fun, and purpose, you'll begin to see that peace and productivity were never meant to compete.
They were meant to flow together under God's rhythm of grace. Friend, maybe your harvest looks different this season. Maybe it's smaller than you expected, but heart; growth is happening beneath the surface where only God can see. Keep watering in your faith and tend in your heart. He's growing something beautiful in you and in his perfect timing, your harvest will come.
Thanks for joining me today, friend on Harvest without the hustle. Each week we'll dig into a new scripture to help you grow in faith and live with peace, purpose, and joy.
